Terms of Use

Using Build the Periodic Table
The game is free to download for personal, non-commercial use, with a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the full game. Kids should have an adult's permission, and an adult who lets a child use the game agrees to these terms.
The full-game unlock is sold through Apple's App Store, so Apple handles payment and refunds: an adult can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. On a new device signed in to the same Apple ID, use Restore purchase on the unlock screen.
For learning, not for safety advice
We check the questions and facts carefully, but they can contain mistakes, and the game is not a science textbook.
Some elements and chemicals are dangerous. Never try an experiment, mix, taste, touch or smell chemicals because of anything in this game. Ask a teacher or an adult, and follow real safety rules.
Your study sets
Study sets you create stay on your device. Please do not type private information such as names, addresses or phone numbers into them.
Our things
The game, its questions, artwork and code belong to us or to the people who license them to us. Please do not copy, sell or take apart the app to reuse it.
The game also uses free open-source software and fonts under their own licenses, listed in About, then Open-source licenses and credits.
Using it properly
Please do not try to break, overload or tamper with the game or the services it uses.
No promises, and limits
The game is provided "as is", without promises that it will always work or be free of mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses or damage that come from using it. This does not take away any rights you have under the law that cannot be taken away.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms (last updated 2026-10-16); using the game after an update means you accept it. Questions? Email support@buildtheperiodictable.com.
